Green Alberta (www.greenalberta.ca) is providing design professionals with documentation they need on green building products, at a push of a button and 24hrs a day… The Edmonton-based company was founded in 2007 by two young Eco-entrepreneurs- Stephani Carter and Brandi Burdeniuk. Green Albetra provides research and education to design professionals requiring green product information, and to manufacturers who would like to know more about how to transition into the green building market and innovate once there. Through their growing online library of sustainable building materials and products, Green Alberta is playing part in the creation of a more sustainable marketplace for Canada’s building and construction industry. Their unique product evaluation process measures the sustainable performance of products and their manufacturing processes in relation to environmental, economic and social issues. Their evaluation process is based on internationally accepted standards of sustainability and existing green building rating systems were considered in its development. [More] [Less]
